Although this place needs a very serious renovation, it's fantastic. It's really one of the more fantastic DC libraries with a serious second level for kids and teenagers. The first level also has phone, booths and areas for working. Staff is kind and helpful.

The Chevy Chase Branch Library is a remarkable hidden gem that holds a rich history. This library boasts a vast collection of DVDs, some dating back to the 90s, providing a nostalgic touch. It serves as an excellent destination for families, encouraging children to engage in the joy of reading and fostering their curiosity. Beyond its emphasis on literacy, the library also offers a comfortable environment for leisurely reading and internet browsing. It's an ideal spot for individuals seeking a peaceful atmosphere to immerse themselves in books or engage in online activities. Moreover, the library provides a variety of games that entertain and educate young visitors. Overall, the Chevy Chase Branch Library is a commendable establishment that caters to different age groups and interests. Its commitment to promoting reading and offering diverse resources makes it a valuable asset within the community

Different from other DC libraries. It is not a homeless shelter that may occasionally lend books. This library primarily handles books, magazines and WiFi, and provides a quiet place to read without panhandling and loud psychotic episodes like the MLK "library."

I strongly appreciate this library. Its beautiful design and well-organized layout make it quite inviting. This was one of the reasons I chose to visit. Typically, we envision a calm and comfortable environment conducive to reading and self-reflection when we think of libraries. However, I found that the conversation at the front desk was a bit louder than expected, making it difficult to concentrate on my studies today. Additionally, while I understand that the children’s area can be lively, I believe it’s essential for adults to maintain a quieter atmosphere to respect the needs of all patrons. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, as I truly value the space and the resources it offers. Thank you for understanding.

Nice and quiet. However, I kept getting stares from the librarian. 🤔
