View all on Google →Wonderful playground, with over a dozen picnic benches, a parking lot, bathrooms, and lots of adult workout equipment around the exterior of the playground. Nice view of the river and lots of trees for ample shade in the summer.
I love it, but there are issues with the benches which need immediate repair and I don’t mind people smoking. Just be 10 feet away from the kids.
Pirate Ship Playground At Anacostia Park could use more Picnic Shelters and Tables.. Amenities Include a Playground, Restrooms, Picnic Shelter, Picnic Tables, Football/Soccer Fields, Baseball Field, Walking Trail, Plenty of Open Green Spaces and Parking.
We didn’t use the playground but we parked in the lot to watch a regatta on the river. It was well maintained and the kids were having fun.
It's a nice themed playground structure with two slides and I think one set of manipulatives. There isn't a swing nearby, though. I would say it's designed for older kids, not toddlers/preschool age. There's a building that's supposed to house men's and women's rooms, but they were closed. Two port-a-potties have you risk PTSD to use them. It does over look the Anacostia river. Overall I suppose more positives than negatives. But I won't be back. Better, more interactive, and more well kept playgrounds exist in DC.
