View all on Google →James Monroe Park is a quiet, well-maintained green space with benches and walking paths—ideal for peaceful breaks and casual outdoor relaxation in the city.
Since the new construction is completed, the place is more frequently crowded at lunch time. I enjoy an afternoon sit in the sunshine if I can get away from work, but it would be nice if they'd get the fountain up and running again. Way fewer aggressive squirrels than in Lafayette Park, as well, so enjoy when the weather is nice!
This park is much greener than Rabaut Park in Mt. Pleasant, which is good if you enjoy the sight of grass while having lunch.
Nice quiet, very clean, stand alone park. Plenty eateries around and of course, a few departments belonging to the famous "George Washington University".
So peaceful, gives you NYC feel without the sound pollution.
