Well worth the price of admission. This garden is very peaceful quiet and beautiful. With the scheduled times I rarely ran into any other people leaving me feeling like I was wandering the estates garden all alone. It was incredibly peaceful and serene.

Lovely place, but I wish there were signs throughout the park showing the name of the of the gardens. Very much needed

Cool city park managed by NPS that was formerly part of Dumbarton Oaks estate. It was designed by landscape architect Beatrix Farrand to be used in combination with formal gardens. Since I have visited the park before the formal gardens (separate entrance and admission fee), I couldn’t even guess that this secluded park can be viewed from upper gardens terrace. Multiple trails are criss-crossing the park. Stone bridge is one of the focal points of the park.

very nice grounds but the wisteria are already dead due to the hot weather this week

I loved this park. I visited during Cherry Blossom season and it was beautiful to walk the trials. There are no crowds and it was very nice. Access is free, not to be confused with Dumbarton Gardens, which does require buying tickets. Access to the park (free) is not very clearly demarcated, it is through a downhill entrance that has a barrier to prevent the entry of vehicles. It is on R street, and the entrance can be found in Gmaps as Lovers Lane. Easy to find parking on the street, allowed for 2 hours.
