Bellevue William O Lockridge Library

The exterior has a modern and stylish design that looks fantastic! Once inside, there are three floors with the first floor being a check out area. There is a moderate variety of adult books and plenty of space to read on the third floor. The library could be more ergonomic but it isn’t a fire hazard by any means, it’s just personal preference. I had difficulties finding my way to the third floor during my visit. Overall, a unique experience.

This post is to thank Kyrn Wade for such outstanding customer service. Very through at his job. Because he did not just check the book in, he scam thru it and came across some of my personal information. He got my attention to ensure that is was returned to me. By doing this it also allowed me to obtain my library card without an extra trip. As the book that was being returned was a family member. Kudos to you Kyrn and your warm personality was a pleasure to interact with on that overcast day. GOD bless. Peace.

The library closed early because of HVAC issues which is understandable as the library is mostly lit with natural light from the sun. I booked a conference room for a call I had to make but it was canceled because of the lack of central air. The staff was kind and helpful. One of the librarians suggested a more quiet space for me to make my conference call and even checked in with me when I moved to the space. Some of the patrons were inconsiderate (someone was smoking and another was on the phone and speaking quite audibly). Overall it was a pleasant experience. I cannot wait to return once the HVAC system is running operationally.

I had a conference room booked at 12pm for an evaluation. I show up to the library and they are unexpectedly closed, with no notice on the doors and no email sent to me telling me that the booking was cancelled. I was unable to complete the evaluation and unable to reschedule due to the fact that the library gave zero notice that they were closed. This is not the first time that I’ve had issues with this library regarding the temperature being too hot, the top floor being closed without warning, and other issues. Very poorly run.

I booked a conference/study room for an important phone job interview. I was already a bed of nerves. On top of stress sweating and the 85+ degree weather, there was absolutely zero A.C.! And I had to sit in a hot sunny study room and force concentration. About that concentration, 2 separate women were screaming on their phones! Not one librarian told them to be quiet! Today, I had another phone interview so I scheduled another study room last night. Today, I received a cancellation notice and hour before my reservation. This library SUCKS!
