Great area to just sit..have some yogurt or coffee while the kids play in the open water fountain.

Pretty but not well maintained. Trashy with a lot of homeless and transient type people everywhere. Not the safest feeling place.

Great community space. The farmers market from spring thru fall are wonderful outings if you love farm to table healthy edibles. They have great selections especially for vegetarians. It is handicapped accessible but, there is a need for a public restroom facility. Also a great space to schedule community activities in the hopefully, cool, sunny rain free summer. Or to repose and rest for a minute after shopping.

This is a great place for the Columbia Heights community. There is a terrific farmers market on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. In the summer there is a great splash park surrounded by a half circle of cement seating which is wonderful for children to play in and is nice for parents to unwind. Please note that a group of homeless men hang out here from time to time and sometimes sleep here.

They call this a Civic plaza but the only real activity that I go there for is the Farmers market on Saturdays. Otherwise, when I am there during the week or passing by, it is mostly homeless people who are sitting around or people just walking by quickly to get to the metro or their daily business. The market is wonderful on Saturdays and quite a gem for the neighborhood.
