View all on Google →I was excited about the newly renovated pool area. The first day of the grand opening was amazing 7/23/26. I went again the following day and the energy wasn't as welcoming. The "deep" part of the pool is about 5.5 feet. I got there with my son and the first hour everything was fine with him/others going over there. The next hour a different lifeguard (one in yellow shirt) was making everyone, even adults perform swim tests. If the people refused or couldn't do freestyle for a certain distance, she said they couldn't go in the deep end. Her method of distinguishing who could and who couldn't swim in the deep end seemed excessive and petty, like she was on a power trip. The next hour, she and the other lifeguards filled the entire deepend with lane ropes to prevent people from swimming in the area. No one was swimming laps, why do you need 6-7 lanes? See pictures/videos. We'll come back, hopefully she won't be on duty though.
2026: hadn’t been here since 2023 but gave it another shot…and post renovation it’s still disappointing, but less nonsense (still some - like “no eating” and pointed to the rules which DON’T say that… so they hand wrote it on printer paper and put it up lol). They didn’t update the facilities either - showers and toilets still broken and no toilet paper. Cheap lounge chairs that will probably break before the end of this summer. Such a lost opportunity. DPR really needs to do better. 2022/2023: 1 star - things went downhill and the lifeguards were disrespectful and sucked the fun out of this place. They did all out every hour but started early and went late so it was a significant about of time out of the pool every single hour (not even adult swim). Also, disgusting - literally so gross and never clean. We stopped going here. 2021: 4 stars - We had such a fun summer at this pool almost every day for the past month! Very baby-friendly, as the pool has a sloped entrance and a side that’s very shallow, which was so needed since the baby pool was closed most of the season. The staff is so wonderful. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because it’s been understaffed - so the features are almost always turned off (the slides, baby pool, half of the pool, all out for every 15 mins of the hour instead of adult swim), but the staff that are there are always awesome. If dc gov could get this place more staffed so that the features could be opened, and we could have adult swim instead of all out, that would make it so much more fun!
Awful and Needs Maintenance - all the slides were closed. The infant pool was closed. No reasons provided. The main pool needs major maintenance. I found a 4 inch screw driver at the bottom of the shallow end. It’s dirty. Staff is unfriendly at best. I do not know where my taxes go but it’s not to upkeep.
Love the free fruit and vegetable market the first Saturday every month
Through summer 2021 have been visiting almost weekly with my 3yr old. Rosedale pool has been clean, lifeguards are strict (in a good way) and my daughter loves it. Some features like slides and kiddie pool are mostly shut down, but to me those are just icing. Was impressed that during a "sanitation event" they immediately shut down the pool for two days, drained it, cleaned it, and re-filled it. Inconvenient but reassuring. Bathrooms are too cold, feels like 59 degrees, but better that than too hot!
