View all on Google →Apparently they lock the doors 20 minutes before closing every day but there’s nothing posted at the pool or online about this. Typical DPR. So you have a line of kids standing outside the pool ready to swim and DPR won’t let them take quick swim before closing on a hundred-degree day. Wonderful. At least publicize this policy - or better yet, end it.
It’s fantastic that there is another public pool in DC. Facilities are good and clean, and there are two swimming lanes. I think one lane would be plenty when the pool is crowded (see picture). Also, there is no shadow whatsoever, just 4 ombrelloni.
If you want a 50s style idealism with trees and an a breathable marine layer of safety, this is the place for it. This whole park this whole area, teeming w a traditional, gentle feel.
The pool and facility is amazing, but not so for the lack of maintence. The mens showeres did not work, the locker room floor is flodded out into the lobby. At 3:30 pm they closed the pool to add chemicals instead of waiting after hours. There is dirt, leaves and trash in the pool area. Clearly a violation of health and saftey standards @DPW
Very nice public pool. We came early on a Tuesday around 9:30. The pool was relatively empty and as we were getting there the life guards removed a swimming lane to allow more room for kids to swim. They still had 3 lanes for laps. The zero entry portion of the pool is small, but great for small children. Bathrooms and changing rooms seemed well kept. The only con was the lack of shade as the day went on, but we will definitely use this pool in the future.
