View all on Google →It has a nice splash park and a creative playground. Very good for kids under 10 is also a big place where you can hold a birthday party for less than $100. I really liked it and I wasn't invited to a first day there the kids were able to play outside enjoy the splash water and the playground and next to it we celebrated the first day with a big hall. Very close to Logan circle and dupont circle. There are bad parking of the street.
We were looking for a break from the tradional tourist area of Washington DC and found Stead Park and this beautiful neighborhood a perfect fit.
Clean park and overall a great facility. Unfortunately, my experience today was overshadowed by a serious concern regarding the professionalism and conduct of two DPR summer program staff members. The staff members were sitting in the splash pad area, away from the children in their program, and one began unnecessarily policing and speaking inappropriately to my child, who was simply playing in the public splash pad and was not part of their program. When I addressed the interaction, the staff member became argumentative rather than responding professionally or de-escalating the situation. I reported the incident to management at the recreation center and have also submitted a formal complaint to DPR for review. The park itself is lovely, but staff representing a public youth program should be held to an appropriate standard when interacting with children, parents, and the community.
