View all on Google →The Lincoln Memorial is one of those places you have to see in person. Definitely don’t skip the undercroft tour either, it was surprisingly interesting and gave us a whole new appreciation for the memorial. There was no wait for the tour which was even better. Highly recommend doing both!
This is a must visit when in Washington. It's definitely a sight to behold. Although the pool area leading up to the monument was undergoing renovation, so that was a bummer interms of the full view, but still a great view nonetheless. Walking up the steps is a bit of a hike, but again, well worth the view. The architecture is stunning. We went on a very sunny day, so it was very hot, but still enjoyable nonetheless.
Unbelievable monument to visit. Kinda puts you in your feelings. The architecture is superb and feels like it's talking to you. Being a vet and my son son active duty, it reminds you of why we do/did what we do!! 100 out of 5 🌟. Definitely must visit sometime in your life!
🇺🇸 Lincoln Memorial — A Place That Speaks “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.” — Abraham Lincoln A Monument Worth the Visit The Lincoln Memorial is one of those places that doesn’t just look historic—it feels historic. From the moment you arrive, there’s a quiet weight to the space, a sense that something meaningful has happened here—and continues to happen. Access was easy, and arriving by Uber worked perfectly, especially for a quick visit focused on capturing photos. And what a setting it is. Surrounded by the National Mall, you’re not just visiting one monument—you’re stepping into a landscape filled with story, memory, and significance. Atmosphere & Experience Despite the number of visitors, the atmosphere was surprisingly respectful. People were kind, cordial, and aware that this is more than a tourist stop—it’s a place of reflection. That balance between activity and reverence really stood out. We were able to take all the photos we wanted without feeling rushed, and the space—especially the steps and the view toward the Reflecting Pool—offers incredible angles. Final Impression This was a worthwhile stop in every sense. Whether you come for history, reflection, or simply to take in one of the most iconic views in the United States, the experience delivers. Word of Appreciation There’s something powerful about places that remind us of who we’ve been—and who we’re called to be. The Lincoln Memorial does exactly that. “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8 (NKJV)
We visited the newly opened underground exhibit this time. It tells more history of the building, and the details that people usually hear from a tour guide. Also, the air condition inside gave us a good break from the outside heat in August. Tickets are free at the entrance, but entry is timed. You can grab your tickets, explore the upper level of the memorial, and head back down when your time slot begins.
