About
The four open-air rooms of the FDR Memorial represent each of the four terms of office to which he was elected. A meandering pathway leads past waterfalls, bronze sculptures, and his own powerful words carved on the granite walls. A statue of Roosevelt sitting in a wheelchair greets visitors and reminds them of the man who refused to let disability stop him.

View all on Google →The Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial is one of the most beautiful and thought-provoking memorials in Washington, D.C. Unlike traditional monuments, this memorial takes visitors on a journey through the four terms of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidency, combining history, art, and powerful symbolism in a truly unique way. Walking through the memorial was an unforgettable experience. The beautifully landscaped pathways, waterfalls, bronze sculptures, and engraved quotations create a peaceful atmosphere while telling the story of one of the most important periods in American history, including the Great Depression and World War II. The sculptures are exceptionally detailed and meaningful, depicting ordinary Americans alongside President Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. The combination of water features, open spaces, and carefully designed architecture makes the memorial both visually stunning and emotionally moving. The memorial is exceptionally well maintained and offers plenty of space to explore at your own pace. Its location along the Tidal Basin also provides a beautiful setting and makes it easy to combine with visits to the nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and other landmarks on the National Mall. Overall, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial is an inspiring tribute to one of America's most influential presidents. It is a remarkable blend of history, art, and reflection, making it one of the most memorable memorials in Washington, D.C. I would highly recommend visiting it, and it fully deserves a five-star rating.

Always inspiring to walk through the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. The quotes are great to read and reread on each visit. He did so much for this country and whether is winter / spring / summer or fall - a still through this memorial is always uplifting.
