Although currently undergoing renovations so we weren't able to go in, it was still amazing to actually be there. My family started visiting Lincoln historical sites back in the '80s and this was the last site of our trek. The gift shop directly across the street is also attached to the other historical site where he passed. Very fascinating!

I am a Turk, and I couldn’t hold back my tears while touring the museum. May Abraham Lincoln’s soul rest in peace. May the ground he lies in not hurt him. He was a very important hero for humanity.

This was such a cool venue to watch a show at. The museum downstairs is very well done too if you only have time for that still go, but we definitely recommend catching a show The theater is small enough that it felt intimate and you could actually see the actors on stage, but historical and beautiful so you still felt like it was a great evening out. 1776 was a great show, with a fantastic cast. The physical comedy, dramatic singing and use of space made it a 10/10-even if you aren't super interested in history. Definitely eat before though, as you can only bring water into the theater. One of our seats was an obstructed view, but honestly didn't feel like it blocked all that much so a great way save $20 (balcony L row f seat 13)

One of my favorite places to visit. You can feel the history as you sit in the balcony. Great job of preservation of an unfortunate event in our nation’s history.

We closed our 3rd Annual Trip to D.C. with a tour of this beautiful, historical site. Though not originally planning to go here, we decided to stop by while we had some downtime. We reserved our tickets, literally, right before walking into the door. Here are the highlights of our visit to the Ford’s Theatre: 1. Informative museum with some interactive exhibits. 2. Very well trained and informed NPS tour guides. Special shout out to Garrett, who knew exactly what he was talking about along with some cool facts about the theatre we never knew! 3. Well kept-up theatre that you can actually sit in the seats at. 4. Close up view of the very room in which Lincoln was shot. 5. The small, formerly hospital, across the street was great to visit after a tour of the actual theatre. They’re very much connected. I recommend going here! The tickets are super easy to reserve and the theatre is very impressive.
