About
Dedicated on October 5, 2014, the Memorial shines a light on the important lessons of courage, sacrifice, tenacity, loyalty and honor by bearing witness to the experiences of war heroes who were disabled as a result of military service. It is the first national memorial dedicated solely to disabled veterans, paying tribute to the hidden and visible disabilities from all conflicts and all branches of service.

View all on Google →This is a very respectful understated memorial with a really nice fountain and a bunch of inspirational quotes. It’s a lot of open space but it’s fairly peaceful and there’s also a lot of pretty Ginkgo trees.
Nice quiet artistic tribute to American veterans disabled for life.
There is so much to learn at this place. There are quotes from those injured in the war, and their family members. This place is free to visit and it is an open place, and it is open 24 hours. There were not many people when I visited this place around 9 AM on a Saturday. It is very calm and serene and is a place to reflect.
Really nice memorial for disabled veterans. It's easy to access and places to sit down and read the quotes on the memorial walls . You can see the Capitol and are about 5 minutes walking distance from it if not less .
Touching memorial dedicated to those who have been disabled through service to their country. The site contains plenty of seating, a water reflecting pool, statements regarding wounded soldiers from eminent leaders throughout history, and a series of glass panels containing stories and information about disabled heroes. Nice place to sit and relax and contemplate the cost of liberty.
