View all on Google →Seeing the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial had been a lifelong dream of mine. Dr. King is someone I have admired and looked up to for many years, so visiting this memorial was an incredibly meaningful experience. The statue is absolutely breathtaking. Standing before it, I was struck by its immense size, which felt fitting because that’s how significant Dr. King’s impact has been on my life. As you walk toward the memorial, take the time to read the inspiring quotes etched into the surrounding walls—they are powerful reminders of his vision, courage, and enduring legacy. The memorial’s beautiful location along the river provides a peaceful space to reflect, and I believe it is a truly deserving tribute to one of the greatest leaders in our nation’s history. If you’re ever in Washington, D.C., I highly recommend making time to visit this remarkable and historic memorial.
Really beautiful and historically relevant library with exhibitions downstairs and study/reading rooms upstairs. Place is kept clean and safe, however there are at all times a few scruffy looking people inside the building and right before it. Police patrolling the building and the area around it keeps them in line though.
I attended a beautiful candlelight concert here on a Sunday night after the main library had closed. Should you attend an event here at any time of year, I highly recommend having a jacket because the auditorium can get chilly. However, it was one of the most beautiful concerts I’ve been to. I would absolutely recommend this for a nice couples night out.
First time visiting this library branch and it won't be the last! If you love to read, you can't miss visiting the MLK Memorial Library! If you need a place to co-work, a meeting room, and more, this is the place. They even have their own cafe! I loved the native garden on the rooftop terrace. Their selection of resources was expensive in every section. Can't recommend enough.
Beautiful! I will say walking up to it can be daunting because of the homeless tents and the number of homeless on the downstairs floor too, but on the upper floors it’s more inviting, lots of comfortable chairs and coaches, bright lights, huge glass windows all around, and a security and cameras as well. They have a lovely children and teens section and an adult floor. There’s also an exhibition floor which was my favorite, it’s on floor 4, it documents parts of the work of MLK Jr and his colleagues. Floor 5 was the rooftop terrace in high has a lovely view. Definitely a great library.
